What is Nonwoven? What are the uses of non-woven fabrics?

What is nonwoven fabric?

Non-woven fabric is what we call non-woven fabric, this kind of cloth does not need to go through the process of spinning and weaving, and its staple fibers or filaments are randomly or directionally arranged to form a network structure, which is made into cloth after reinforcement and other processes. The production process and production cycle of non-woven fabric are shorter, so the cost is naturally reduced.

The main uses of nonwoven fabrics:

Medical field: Non-woven fabrics are mainly used in surgical clothing, protective clothing, masks and diapers in this field.

Home decoration: bedspreads and sheets, tablecloths, etc.

Garment surface accessories: adhesive lining and lining and styling cotton, etc.

Industrial: industrial cement packaging bags, and some industrial materials (filters, insulation materials).

Agricultural field: like some seedling raising cloth and irrigation cloth and insulation curtain.

Advantages of non-woven fabrics:

1. The raw material of non-woven fabric is polypropylene resin, its specific gravity is 0.9 is only 60% of cotton, and the fabric is fluffy and lighter.

2. Non-woven fabrics are non-toxic and odorless and do not contain other chemical components, so the fabric will not cause irritation to the skin.

3. It also has antibacterial and moth-proof properties.

Disadvantages of non-woven fabrics:

The strength and wear resistance of the fabric are not good, some types of non-woven fabrics cannot be washed, and the fibers will also crack in the right angle direction.

Nonwoven fabric types:

1. Spunlace nonwoven fabric: is made of nonwoven fabric after spunlace process, the strength of the fabric will be much larger than before.

 2. Heat sealing non-woven fabric: This kind of cloth is made by heating and melting.

3. Cake air-laid non-woven fabric: mainly using air-laid technology into cloth.

4. Wet non-woven fabric: is made of fiber reinforced in wet state.
